In 2018 Tristan and his wife Annie Guttridge established and launched Saving the Blue, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to conserving the ocean. As the vice president and lead scientist for Saving the Blue, Tristan helps lead a team of passionate and knowledgeable marine advocates and scientists towards five important missions.
